Seven bearded men, strangers and known to each other only by number, gather under the leadership of the "Brain," Number One, and plan the perfect crime: to isolate a small town — cut it off from the outside world for three hours, and sack it. Two of the bearded thieves fall to Anderson's gun, and a third is taken prisoner, while the remaining four escape. Under guard in the hospilal, the wounded thief reveals the surprise ending to an almost perfect crime.
