Synopsis

The distinctive protruding eyes - the thin wide grin smirking from ear to ear - the twitching, nervous, hunted look! Who else but the late Marty Feldman? And who less-likely to help solve a complex mystery in late 1890s London? But Feldman it is who comes to the aid of Sigerson Holmes (Gene wilder), younger brother of the celebrated Sherlock in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother. The case involves him in blackmail, attempted murder in a music hall, the theft of some state documents from the Foreign Office and, most diabolical of all, brings him face to face with arch criminal Professor Moriarty! Marty Feldman appears as Sergeant Orville Sacker of the Scotland Yard records office and together with Madeline Kahn, Roy Kinnear, Dom DeLuise and Leo McKern helps make The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother both a fast-moving pastiche of sight gags and pratfalls and an affectionate tribute to every 'straight' Sherlock Holmes movie that has ever been made for the cinema.
