Synopsis

The Battery is downtown New York, where street gangs are the law and ordinary people live in fear. When rock singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) retuns to play nerh town, she is kidnapped by the Bombers, a notopous 200 strong motorcycle gang, who virtually run the neighbourhood. Billy Cox, Ellen Aim's wimpish boyfriend/manager, hires soldier of fortune, Tom Cody (Michael Paré) to break into the Battery and rescue Ellen Aim. Recruiting the tough talking, fast shooting McCoy Madigan) as his sidekick, and with Billy as his guide, Cody heads for the Battery of Flre is fast and furious action film that zips along to the sounds of Ry Cooder and Jim Steinman, and is violent not just because of the fights and fireworks, but because of its sheer energy and speed.
