Set in Mexico in 1912, 'Villa Rides' is an all star, action packed adventure about the Mexican Revolution.
Yul Brynner is Pancho Villa, the famed rebel leader who becomes a national folk hero. Together with Fierro (Charles Bronson), he leads the villagers against their dreaded military leaders. Robert Mitchum is Lee Arnold, an American gun-running aviator, who, when his plane is temporarily grounded, is forced by Villa to take part in the uprising. To save his life, Arnold uses his airplane as an aerial weapon which enables Villa to capture a key town and to later escape General Huerta's (Herbert Lom) treachery.
The lively and often witty screenplay was co-written by Robert Towne and Sam Peckinpah.
