Hal Roach comedies should need no introduction, for they included films starring Laurel and Hardy, The Keystone Cops and Our Gang. We are thrilled to have found the only two Hal Roach children's comedies produced in colour, and the quality is superb. Dr. Hugo Robbin disappears in the strange explosion of a cottage on his gloomy estate. His nurse, sole beneficiary in the doctor's will, is charged with his murder. At her trial Curley unwittingly implicates his friend Fix-it Dan. To exonerate Dan, the Gang proceed to the doctor's gloomy mansion. Secret passages, underground pits, hidden laboratories with wild animals alternately account for shudders and laughter.
