Synopsis

LSD Drug or Death
Russian Roulette or a Third Factor

The Contract is a story of racial conflict, set against the background of a decaying and derelict factory. JAKE and DEBORAH come together to enact a macabre ritual with a loaded gun as a go-between. They each represent the extremes of their Black and White groups. DEBORAH (Kubi Chaza) is young, black and beautiful. Chosen to represent the black group in the ultimate charade, she is reluctant but purposeful in her beliefs. JAKE (Kenneth Farrington) is white, the ageing leader of the Hawks, motorcyclists in black leather. Abolute, destructive, high on cocaine, frightening and riddled with the cancer of hatred and bigotry, he sets the scene for the fearsome ceremony of tow up and one down. That it ends tragically is inevitable - for both are doomed to lose. That the conflict continues beyond them is an indictment of the society of which they were bred.
