Synopsis

Essentially a serious concept about the condition of man, the story is told in an entertaining and exciting style with dry humour. The Special Effects are 'Out of this World'. Mankind has explored the boundaries of his own solar system, now he reaches out in the 21st Century to the endless interstellar distances of the universe. The scoutship "DARK STAR" travels far out in advance of the colony ships, combing the universe for unstable planets which could menace the main fleet. DOOLITTLE, TALBY, PINBACK and BOILER, have been in space for 20 years and are preparing to drop their 19th Thermostella bomb, blowing yet another unstable planet into oblivion... they will remain in space until all their bombs are gone.
