Gallia, sister of the Roman Emperor, is not only a beautiful and sensuous woman. She is shrewd and clever enough to suggest stratagems which enable the Romans to inflict crushing defeats on the Barbarians. Inevitably, she is captured by the Barbarians and used as a bargaining piece in this colourful and violent spectacular. Her lover Olimpius is forced to fight terrifying duels to secure the release of her compatriots. Ultimately his sacrifices are in vain, because the beautiful Gallia decides to leave him and marry her former enemy, the chief of the Barbarians.
