Synopsis

Only two dared to defy the mighty Manchu...
With the Ming dynasty at an end. the new Ching government of the Manchus destroys all the predecessors including the famed Shao Lin Monastery, legendary home of the Kung Fu style of combat. Hung Hsi-kuan survives the merciless killing, burning and destruction and flees to the town of Kwangtung, pursued by Manchu thugs. General Che Kang instructs his deputy, Teh Hsiang, to capture Hung and at all costs. Hung is tracked down and a bloody fight ensues in which escaped Shao Lin disciple, Fang Shih-yu, mistakes Hung for a gangster and aids his capture. Although imprisoned and tortured, Hung refuses to reveal the names of other escaped disciples. Meanwhile, Teh Hsiang boasts to the beautiful restaurant proprietress, Mrs. Wang, how his men captured Hung. She relates his story to Li Shih-chung, a leading Shao Lin sympathiser, who puts the blame squarely on Fang. Realising his mistake, the remorseful Fang determines to rescue Hung by himself, but Li insists on caution. Mrs. Wang lures Teh to her establishment while Fang and the others dig a tunnel to the cellar where Hung is imprisoned. The final battle is fought on a local hillside. Che and all his men perish in the "TEMPLE OF THE DRAGON" at the hands of the dedicated disciples from Shao Lin.
