Synopsis

This is a film of immense interest to the field sportsman. For more than three seasons a film unit recorded the sport enjoyed by the Quorn Hunt in High Leicestershire. Production was completed in the spring of 1981. They have produced a remarkable film record of a modern Hunt throughout the year; a unique record of the hunting field; hounds in full cry; the spirit and excitement of the chase with explanatory commentary from huntsman Michael Farrin. The film also traces the Hunt's year — including scenes from the point-to-point, the cross country team event at Muxlow Hill, the puppy show, terrier show and Pony Club camp at the Hunt kennels, Hunt social activities — and on to cubhunting and the season proper. This is an entertaining and informative way of showing what hunting is all about. Script and narration by Michael Clayton ("Foxford") — Editor of Horse and Hound.
