What do you think about a feast that arouses the interest of a whole city? A feast where thousands of people give up their everyday clothes to dress up as kings and slaves, harlequins and pierrots? The city itself puts on costumes appropriate for the event, spending millions of dollars on ornamentation.
Everybody in town is committed to this feast: from the most ordinary man up to the top governmental authority, all well aware that this is one of the most important events of the year. This is Rio de Janeiro's Carnival 1980.
