Synopsis

Based on MGM'S original 1932 classic, Tarzan "The Ape Man", this captivating new version tells Jane Parker's story in a lusty tale of a determined woman who finds adventure and romance in the heart of the African jungle. Leaving behind the England she loves. Jane - a stunning performance by the beautiful Bo Derek - sets off to find her father. Travelling by steamboat, tramp steamer and finally by foot she voyages deep into the darkest Africa of 1910. But it is only when her search for her missing father ends that Jane's real adventure begins. James Parker played by the inimitable Richard Harris, is preparing for an expedition to the fabled elephant's graveyard when his daughter eventually catches up with him. Together they set off on an epic journey. En route Jane encounters dangerous plants, poisonous snakes and insects, man-eating lions and the treacherous Ivory people, until finally comes her most memorable encounter of all... Tarzan The Ape Man.
