Synopsis

"In the icy wastes of Soviet Russsia one man's determination and character burns bright" "Coming Out of the Ice" is the story of a young American's struggle to survive two decades of exile in desolate Soviet prisons. JOHN SAVAGE stars as Victor Herman who as a teenager in 1931 arrives in Russia with his family to help establish Henry Ford's auto and truck factories. The young Victor is an outstanding athlete and daredevil parachutist and breaks the world free-fall record. Eventually he is awarded the exalted order of Moscow by Stalin and asked to change his citizenship. His refusal costs him his freedom, he is arrested as a spy, and sentenced to ten agonising years in Siberian labour camps. "Coming Out of the Ice" was filmed on location in Finland and England.
