Synopsis

James Coburn brings a wry sense of humour and a 3-cushion billiard technique to his role as veteran pool ace and loudmouth Nick Casey, The Baltimore Bullet, in this full tilt comedy suspense movie. Can The Baltimore Bullet and his sharp shooting protege Billy Joe (Bruce Boxleitner) win the stake for a match with The Deacon (Omar Sharif) - a high roller who lives the life of ladies and luxury limousines The Bullet and Billy dream about? It's one big hustle as 'poolroom jewel' Carolina Red (Ronee Blakley) teams up with Nick and the wonder boy to finangle their way into every money making game they can find. And they make it - not without some racey romantics between Carolina and The Bullet. The $20,000 showdown is a cliff-hanger as Nick and Billy Joe line up for a crack at The Deacon. The end looks explosively funny but there's one big game to be played....
