Synopsis

He brings audiences to their feet... and women to their knees
Alan Arkin plays Yasha Mazur, a talented magician whose craving for success is exceeded only by his insatiable passion for women. There is the pathetic Magda (Maia Danziger), the voluptuous Zeftel (Valerie Perrine) and the beautiful but haughty Emilia (Louise Fletcher), the woman he desires above all others, to the despair of his faithful wife Esther (Linda Bernstein). Yasha's affairs are as amazing as his tricks. But he is, after all, only human, and soon finds himself enmeshed in a maze of lies and false promises. The skill he once used for entertainment he now uses for destruction, playing conjuring tricks with the lives of all who love him, and with his own soul...
