Synopsis

Based on the novel The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad, Sabotage was in many ways ahead of its time, indeed public opinion turned against Hitchcock for the way he depicted the innocent boy (Desmond Tester) as the victim of the mindless saboteur. The film includes the famous scene where Sylvia Sydney [sic] decides to murder her criminal husband while slicing meat on the kitchen table - a macabre scene fraught with tension and suspense - the hallmarks of the master.
