Synopsis

This hilarious, western spoof gave Lee Marvin an Oscar for his performance as the drunk, and the public a rare chance to see Nat King Cole and Stubby Kaye on film as a pair of wandering minstrels. Jane Fonda stars as Catherine Ballou, a young girl who hires Lee Marvin to protect her father from a vicious gunman. Unfortunately, Cat finds that her hired man is not always exactly reliable and is more or less drunk most of the time. Despite her efforts, Cat's father is killed and in revenge Cat herself becomes an outlaw with her drunken friend as sidekick.
