Synopsis

Flight 279 from New York triggers on airport atrocity by a mobster hit-squad disguised as terrorists. Their Contract, Don Caputo. has returned to get the Cop-Killer who gunned down his father after a corruption fit-up. Don's old buddy, "The Duke" (Jack Palance), is always about when the bullets are bouncing: in seedy stairwells; in high-class clip-joints with fan-toiled strippers; and in the Big Fight game where the heavy money changes hands. A wheel-wrenching tyre-burning car chase, with explosive results, leads to the waterfront wasting of a racketeer who could have resolved a riddle. Not since St. Valentine's day has the resulting massacre mauled the mob so massively. Panther-like, Dan stalks his quarry with cold-blooded cunning through the roof top jungle territories of his youth...
