Synopsis

AN EMOTIONAL STORY OF A YOUNG BOY'S NEED FOR FATHERLY LOVE.
Eleven year old Joey Bosnick (Ricky Schroder) is having problems at school and with the law since the absence of his adored father (Fred Dryer), who has no time for his son. His mother, Jeanne (Patty Duke Austin), realizing that her son needs a positive father figure, turns to the Big Brother organization - a group of men who volunteer to be friends to fatherless boys. Joe's Big Brother is Arnie Polls (James Farentino), a 40-ish, balding night club owner. Despite initial difficulties, their relationship grows and blossoms - as does the love between Jeanne and Arnie. Soon, all three lives are filled with love and laughter.
