Synopsis

A Funny Kind of Love Story
"LONELY HEARTS" is an unlikely romance. Peter is a middle-aged piano tuner with a conspicuous toupee who spends most of his free time with his old dachshund. Patricia is a young(ish), pretty(ish), shy bank clerk, who has just escaped the clutches of her fearsomely over-protective parents. Peter and Patricia's joys and fears are brilliantly portrayed by two fine Australian actors, Norman Kaye and Wendy Hughes ('Newsfront', 'My Brilliant Career') as their love involves them with a string of eccentrics - families, workmates, the residents of on old folks' home arid on amateur drama group. Against all the odds, Peter and Patricia's romance develops. It is a tale of laughter and tears, funerals and farce and once you have seen it you will realise that there need never, ever be LONELY HEARTS.
