Synopsis

Christmas eve in Concord, New England. The snow is falling but in that winter of 1933 there's little cheer to be found. Money is short, most of the men are out at work. And old Benedict Salde spends the day repossessing a poor farmer's stove, a bookseller's books - and the orphanage piano. When his assistant, Thatcher, makes a mild protest, he's sacked. But retribution for Slade (marvellously played by Henry Winkler) comes that night when the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future visit him. A moving and very different retelling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol which captures all the magic of a very special time of year...
