Synopsis

Frank Williams preached a fundamentalist doctrine for a decade - create speed and reliability through technology and you are the motor racing champion of the world. There were few converts to his credo in the first ten years of Team Williams, years as remarkable for optimism as for lack success. Even fundamentalism requires massive infusions of money in Grand Prix Formula One, when Williams was finally able to blend the resources of British engineering with the fiscal resources of the Middle East, he made true believers of the rest of the motor racing world. Williams dedication to his ideals, plus the boost of Saudi Arabian sponsorship, and the vital arrival of engineer Patrick Head, turned frustration into fruition in 1980. The excitement of that season, with historical footage of the years building up to it and incisive interviews with the team who crafted the Williams championship, are all part of this exclusive video record.
