Synopsis

They're not lost in space... they're loose!
Dark Star. The Mission of the Strangelove generation. Set in the 21st century, and influenced by Dr. Strangelove and 2001 Dark Star is essentially a serious concept about the condition of man. Entertaining and exciting, it also has dry humour and special effects that are 'out of this world'. Having explored the boundaries of his own solar system, mankind now reaches out to the endless interstellar distances of the universe. The scoutship Dark Star travels far in advance of the colony ships, combing the universe for unstable planets which could menace the main fleet. The crew Doolittle, Talby, Pinback and Boiler have been in space for 20 years, and are preparing to drop their 19th century thermostellar bomb, blowing yet another unstable planet into oblivion. The crew must remain in space until all their bombs have gone and their mission is complete.
