The great Peter Cushing stars in this Amicus werwolf/who dunnit. An interesting concept, at the start you are told that one of the key characters is the said werewolf and you have to decide who it is, towards the end, the film stops whilst you take 30 seconds to decide. The plot revolves around a wealthy businessman played by Calvin Lockhart, whose main challenge these days is big game hunting after mastering the corporate world. His research has identified a number of characters whom all fit an MO for the werewolf as people get 'offed' regularly in their company. Ergo he invites them alll to his isolated mansion wereby he announces his desire to hunt the werewolf. Naturally they disbelieve, initially. The whole werewolf mythology is laid bear by the always enigmatic Peter Cushing, a doctor who is an expert in this field (dispete having never seen one). Its a low budget affair but has decent pace and a good cast. There are some wooden performances from the periphery characters but who cares. This is a pretty fun movie overall but does look dated these days, the werewolf transformation effects look like they were doen by a local nursery group and the plot just wouldnt get past first base in modern times. If you like Amicus stuff or are a Cushing fan its worth tracking down but if your just a horror buff looking for a cheap treat, then theres better out there.
