Synopsis

It is the Ardennes, in December 1944. Lt-Col. Kiley of Intelligence does not share his colleagues [sic] views that the war is virtually over. He believes the Germans are planning a major counter-offensive. His belief is reinforced when reconnaissance photographs reveal the presence of a crack Panzer Commander, Colonel Hessler. Hessler is to command a vast attack spearheaded by the new King Tiger tanks, with which he aims to cut through the Allied defences, head for Antwerp and strangle the British and American supply lines. When the attack is mounted the Americans are caught unprepared, and despite stubborn resistance have to fall back as the fierce Tigers destroy everything in their advancing path. Kiley and General Grey believe that only one factor can stop the Germans - lack of fuel. While General Grey is instituting a plan to force the Tigers to use up fuel, a group of German Commando troops disguised as Americans are creating chaos behind the American lines by disrupting communications and sabotaging supply routs. The final key phase of the battle hinges on the Allied supply dump, which Hessler wants to reach, General Grey wants to blow up, and which - unknown to Grey - has fallen into enemy hands.
