The Film
The film was playing to packed audiences across the country when suddenly, protest followed protest. Demonstrations were held outside the cinemas resulting in massive press coverage. Eventually, to avoid further disturbances in the streets the film was withdrawn.

The Story
Diane is an attractive young wife and mother when, without reason, here husband's love-making becomes strange and violent. Forced to flee from this brutality she takes refuge with Carrie and her photographer boyfriend, Mark, with the inevitable results. To support herself she resumes her career as a fashion model but can she really escape from the dual personality of her husband? This frightening and controversial film examines, sympathetically and with realism, the complex and multiple causes for wife-beating.
