Synopsis

Julie Andrews in her most famous role as a novice nun who becomes governess to the seven children of the widowed Baron von Trapp (Christopher Plummer), turns them into a family singing group and finally escapes with them from Nazi-dominated Austria. Magnificent scenery, an enchanting Rodger and Hammerstein score and near perfect performance combine to make a charming musical that remains ageless entertainment for all the family. Winner of five Academy Awards including best picture of the year. Top songs include 'Do, Re Mi,' 'My Favourite Things,' 'The Lonely Goat Herd' and 'Sixteen Going On Seventeen.'
