Synopsis

He seemed to be faster than death itself.
"He was more dangerous with the bull whip than most men with guns". Wyatt Earp. In an interview with his biographer in 1923, Wyatt Earp talked about the gunfighters he had known, and singles out Chad Stark. 'Outa' the whole bunch of them there is one man that stands out in my mind. I have seen him gun down two men in almost the same instance. He seems to be faster than death itself. "He used to carry round this bull whip and would rather use it than his gun. I seen him use this whip, he was real good, more dangerous with it than most men were with guns. As well as being able to kill he must have had almost magical luck to be able to survive. I really don't think he cared if he lived or died. Maybe he thought he was immortal, some sort of God. I used to think that, sometimes, when I was younger. I have seen him laugh right into the face of death - even I never did that. He scared the hell out of me he did."
